As a Dedicated Captain at Crew on Sea, you are assigned exclusively to a 13-meter charter yacht operated by a charter company for daily charter operations.
You are permanently attached to this vessel and responsible for its safe, efficient, and professional execution of back-to-back day charters throughout the season.
This is a high-frequency operational role. The yacht may depart daily, often with different guests each time. You are expected to maintain consistency, punctuality, and operational discipline at all times.
Your responsibilities include:
• Full navigational command during daily charter trips
• Independent docking and manoeuvring in busy Mediterranean marinas
• Guest safety briefings and onboard supervision
• Ensuring timely departures and returns according to charter schedules
• Pre-charter preparation and post-charter inspections
• Daily technical checks (engines, systems, safety equipment)
• Coordinating turnaround readiness with the charter company
• Maintaining professional communication with charter management
On a 13-meter yacht operating daily charters, manoeuvring precision is essential. You must confidently handle tight marina spaces, varying weather conditions, and frequent docking manoeuvres — often multiple times per day.
Because you are dedicated to one yacht, you develop complete familiarity with its handling characteristics, performance behaviour, and operational routine. This consistency is critical for both safety and charter efficiency.
You represent the charter company and Crew on Sea on every departure.
Preparation & Onboarding
Before starting operations, you complete a structured onboarding process, including:
• Full vessel systems and layout familiarisation
• Review of charter procedures and daily operational flow
• Alignment on docking standards and marina procedures
• Safety protocol review and documentation compliance
• Alignment with Crew on Sea reporting and communication standards
Strong independent manoeuvring ability is required prior to starting this role. The onboarding process ensures operational alignment and consistency — not basic training.
Certification Requirements – Dedicated Captain (13m Daily Charter Yacht)
To qualify, you must hold:
• Yachtmaster Offshore (Commercially Endorsed)
• STCW Basic Safety
• Medical First Aid
• Security Awareness
• VHF – SRC
• Valid medical certificate
In addition, you must:
• Have demonstrable experience manoeuvring yachts in the 10–15 meter range
• Be fully confident docking independently in busy Mediterranean marinas
• Speak fluent English (spoken and written)
• Be comfortable managing daily guest turnover operations
